A strong proponent of Universal Design, Kavita Murugkar is an architect and associate professor who has set up a Research and Training Centre for Universal Design at BNCA for promoting people centric and inclusive design education and practice. She is empanelled as an Accessibility Expert and Access Auditor by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Department for Empowerment of People with Disabilities.
Lisa Pingale runs an art gallery called The Monalisa Kalagram. Apart from showcasing art, and promoting young upcoming artists, she holds traditional craft exhibitions, book releases, music events, photography shows and other cultural activities. She is an active member of the Pune International Centre and a member of their Programs Committee.
Indranil is the founder of IGA Studios which focuses on Art Consultation, Architectural Sculpture, and Landscape Pottery. With his unique venture of IGA Open Studio he conducts art workshops, camps and other events where art knowledge is shared and enhanced and opportunities are provided for common man to interact with eminent personalities in the field.
Dr. Kiran Shinde
Dr. Kiran A. Shinde is Principal at the Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Architecture in Pune. Following his multidisciplinary background and diverse international experience of working with public agencies and in public spaces, he conceived and visualized Pune Biennale in 2012 as a movement to improve aesthetics in Pune. Since then, he has led the organisation of Pune Biennale in 2013 and 2015. For the last few years, he has been working with Pune Municipal Corporation on various public projects where the focus is on improving the urban situation in the city; his most recent project is the newly opened Pune Arts Plaza at the Bund Garden Bridge.
Ashwini Pethe is a professor at Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Architecture. She is actively engaged with social trusts like Janaseva Foundation and professional bodies such as IIA, FEED and Constro. Being an urban designer she has been contributing to the city's public spaces in various ways. She was one of team members who designed Pune Arts Plaza at the Bund Garden Bridge. Most importantly she has groomed the movement of Pune Biennale, since its inception, in the capacity of convener and program director.
Sujata Dharap is a multifaceted artist who runs a foundation for promotion of arts. A well respected artist, she has had more than 25 solo and dual shows of her work in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Goa and Pune. She has been running the Creative Club, where she teaches art to children for the past 31 years. With participation in several group shows in India, Dubai and Chicago, she is well travelled and is inclined towards enhancing art education for children.
