Abhay Sardesai

Editor of Art India Magazine since November 2002, Abhay Sardesai is a notable Indian academic and has successfully added a Cultural Studies orientation to the magazine. His past academic roles include being a Visiting Faculty in Aesthetics in Mumbai University, as well as Chair of Humanities, Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture, Mumbai. Along with teaching at Smt. P. N. Doshi Women's College of Arts, Jnanapravaha and TISS, he has also read his works on Art and Literature at prestigious institutions like University of Princeton, University of Cambridge, Mumbai University, S.N.D.T. University, Sarai and NGMA. His work also involves translating from Marathi, Gujrati, Konkani. As part of the research collective PUKAR, he held the Directorial position of the 'Writing Across the City' project, exploring inter-relationships between literatures and literary cultures in Mumbai.

Arti Kirloskar

Having fulfilled vital positions like Convener of INTACH for 14 years, Pune, Board member and Chairperson of Plan India for 9 years, Arti Kirloskar is presently an Executive Committee member of the Kirloskar Foundation and convenor for Kirloskar Vasundhara film festival. Arti Kirloskar's body of work ranges from preserving Pune's heritage, to projects for children's welfare, especially the girl child. As part of the Kirloskar Foundation, projects like "Clean and Beautiful School" competition, the Water Sanitation and Hygiene program and creating awareness on environment under KVIFF have contributed to the city's well being. A Fine Arts graduate, her interests extend to Craft, Dance, Spirituality, Environment and Wildlife. She is presently concentrating on her art and is participating in the open Section of Kochi Muzris Biennale 2016.

Narendra Dengle

Architect,
Academic, Pune

An architect, educationist and writer. Evolving practice around cultural, contextual and aesthetic issues since 1974, his works have featured in Indian as well as international journals and newspapers, and have also been exhibited in Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur. Having taught at the SPA New Delhi and authored three books and films on Architectural Appreciation, he has contributed immensely as the Chair of Design at KRVIA Mumbai, the Academic Chair at Goa College of Architecture, and as the current Academic Chair at the PVPCOA Pune.

Nitin Nyati

The development of areas like Mohammadwadi and Undri in Pune can be attributed to Nyati Group and its Chairman and Managing Director, Nitin Nyati. A first generation entrepreneur, Nitin Nyati is an accomplished businessman and the driving force behind a flourishing construction empire called the Nyati Group. Graduating from COEP as a Civil Engineer, Mr. Nyati holds a degree in Owners/President Management Program from Harvard Business School. An honorary treasurer of CREDAI, Pune, a board member and trustee of Prashanti Cancer Care, he is committed to propagating an affordable and integrated approach towards cancer treatment. Being a globe-trotter, and his avid interest in adventure sports ushered in and actualised dreams of the Everest Base Camp and even the North Pole! His other interests span to spirituality and the belief in learning as an everlasting process coupled with persevearance and values.

Pooja Sood

As an independent Curator and Art Management Consultant, Pooja Sood has contributed immensely to contemporary art - in curating alternative art practices as also establishing new models of institution building in India and South Asia. Director of KHOJ international artists' Association, she strives towards promoting intercultural understanding through on-going dialogue, experimentation and exchange, by way of India-wide workshops as also international residency programmes. In her capacity as the Regional Coordinator of the international artists' network facilitated by the Triangle Arts Trust, UK, her research has facilitated the establishment of organizations in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, thus engendering a south Asian network for the arts. Her fundraising expertise from the Ford Foundation has been instrumental in developing a network and organising workshops on contemporary art from South Asia. She is also the Director of Arthinksouthasia, where she developed the management programme for young managers in the cultural sphere. Other noteworthy areas of work include curating several large scale Indian and International video and interactive art exhibitions under Apeejay Media Gallery; Selection Committee member of the Fukuoka Triennale # 4 (Japan), the Transmediale Award, (Berlin), a board member of the Delhi Biennale Society, (New Delhi); the South Asian journal of visual culture, (Sri Lanka); Academic Advisory Board member of the Asian Art Archive, (Hong Kong). She has presented on art management in many countries and is the editor of the The KHOJ BOOK: 1997-2007 contemporary art practice in India.

Prabhakar Kolte

Prabhakar Kolte is a Mumbai-based artist who received his diploma from the Sir J.J. School of Art in 1968, where he also taught Between 1972 and 1994. Exhibiting solo extensively, he has also participated in important group exhibitions like 'Art- Mosaic- celebration of Calcutta's Tercentenary, Calcutta and Mumbai, 1990; 'Wounds' CIMA Gallery, Calcutta, 1993; 'Parallel Perceptions' Sakshi, Gallery, Mumbai, 1993 and 94 and 'Bombay- A Tribute To The City' organized by RPG Enterprises, Mumbai, 1995. His international exhibitions include 'Six Indian Painters' curated by Geeta Kapur at Toto grad, Yugoslavia, Ankara and Istanbul, 1985, 'Three Artists' Hong Kong, 1995 and Galerie Foundation for Indian Artists, Amsterdam, 1996. His abstract layering with paint and bands of color juxtaposed against each other, reflect perspectives of a painting itself, while the signs and textures portray his modernist consciousness.

Ramprasad Akkisetti

Ramprasad Akkisetti, is a Founder Managing Director of Christopher Charles Benninger Architects (CCBA). He has been in the creative space for the past 2 decades, leading the country's premier architectural firm. He is an alumnus of AFMC, having academic backgrounds in medicine, psychology and anthropology, Ram has authored books such as 'Psychology for Beginner's being the first to the latest, 'Architecture for Modern India' a monograph, published by Skira Rizzoli, apart from being a publisher of one of the best seller architectural book, "Letters to a young architect" in addition to having written about architecture and published photographs in more than 100 journals and magazines in India and abroad. He is an advisor to the Pune Biennale 2017. He is also part of the think tank to carve out a course on Heritage management and conservation as Part of Deccan College curriculum. He has toured around the world and lectured on Art, Architecture and Life style at several forums. Currently, he divides his time as a painter and a curator at India House Art Gallery and as MD of CCBA.

Ritu Chhabria

Born and brought up in Tehran, obtaining higher education in the UK - a double major in Economics and Marketing from Richmond College, London, a Masters degree in Public Relations and a certification in Arts & Styles from the prestigious Sotheby's, London - this global personality chose to settle in Pune after marriage. Her list of endeavors at working towards mitigating the pain and suffering of the under-privileged has no end. As the Managing trustee of the Mukul Madhav Foundation (since 1999), she has touched the lives of many through multiple social welfare programs in Healthcare, Education and Social Welfare. In addition, she strives to shape the future of our country by being on the Board of Trustee's panel of Make A Wish Foundation of India, a committee member of The Agri- Horticultural Society of Western India - Empress Botanical Garden and of the FICCI FLO, Pune Chapter and most recently, on the Board of Directors of Finolex Industries Ltd.

Sabina Sanghavi

With a career spanning for more than 3 decades, Sabina Sanghavi is not only the Business Cluster Director for 94.3 Radio One - Pune, Kolkata, and Chennai, but also has been responsible for the launch of Indian Express, Loksatta and Mid Day Pune editions. At present she is the Vice Chairperson: Pune Festival, Vice Chairperson: Pune International Film Festival, Founding Chairperson: Shaniwarwada Music & Dance Festival, Pune, Founder President: Spectrum, A Ladies' Study Group and Chairperson of the FICCI FLO, Pune.

Sudarshan Shetty

Kochi Biennale

A contemporary Indian voice whose artistic involvement spans painting, sculpture, installation, video, sound and performance, Sudarshan Shetty engages with various materials and mediums to explore new possibilities of meaning. He refers to his works as 'fairground spectacles', which are intended to "attract the viewer and then disenchant them with the mechanical movement." Being the only Indian artist commissioned to create a public sculpture for the Hakata Reverain Art project curated by Fumio Nanjo, Shetty's international exhibitions include Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, (Japan), the Tate Modern (England) as also a residency at the Mattress Factory (USA) and a Ford Foundation fellowship at the New School for General Studies (USA).
